| The Dominica is one of the many islands in the island chain of the Lesser Antilles. With two thirds of its land covered by rain forest, Dominica holds a wealth of natural treasures including 365 rivers and the highest peak in the Eastern Caribbean, Morne Diablotin. The nickname given to Dominica as the "Nature Island of the Caribbean" is well supported, especially by its cultural heritage that is steeped in conservation ethic. As in all the Caribbean islands, Dominica's largest threat is uncontrolled tourism and cruise ship visitation. |
